Chris

not so much new as an update. http://members.optusnet.com.au/~jenandmick/

i'm getting screwed on the wesite size by optus, so one of the galleries won't come up. Also the one that says under construction, you can at least look a the photos.

This may relieve your boredom for about 5 minutes :)

Nah its not hard. if you can program in something like BASIC, you can understand most of what goes on in HTML. You can get proprietry programs that are more or less what you see is what you get, like MS Frontpage (Gates is a leach!), or a friend recommended something from Macromedia.

I have Adobe Photoshop, which automatically builds a gallery for you. Then i just looked at the HTML script that it wrote (click view source) and changed what i didn't like. As i got more used to reading the script, i simply copied chunks of it for new pages, and modified it as i went. I am also one to look at the source code for sites that i like the look of and see what i can use, but i am always careful not to breach copyright. The things i look for are mostly colour codes and the like.

The thing that kills you is the host site storage. optus is 5meg, which i thought i had come well under with my stuff, but for some reason the size on the storage medium is larger than the files sizes by several meg. Anton and Aaron can probably tell you why.

Yeah, the wheels :D unique as far as i know on a mini. Someone in the club told me they had seen one other example on a mini, but it was so long ago that he can't remember much about it. They were made by Globe (obviously  ), and are very similar in design to the Globe Sprint seen mostly in 5 spoke design on XU1 toranas. I am trying to find out more about them, so if you have any early 70's Globe Wheels brochures in your treasure trove, you might be able to help me out.

Yeah i tried and falied trying to write a website too much fiddling around. I hate having to put in number for what colour you want things to be found the best was was to choose a colour in photoshop and then copy the settings for the levels of each colour.

Keep it up the more mini sites the better

Websites are easy!
To make one i would recommend using Microcrap frontpage or even word, both are easy to use. and are wysiwyg, so that make life easy for newbies. I still use frontpage alot as it is easy to use for simple stuff. more complex stuff you use different programs. No need to write your own code nowadays, it is just silly to even bother.

Cheers

Aaron
