Myself & masses of others will be converging on QLD raceway on the October long weekend for the Australian Motorkhana championships, small problem i have is that im having trouble finding some accomodation for the weekend, all the major hotels seem full up. Any locals know of a nice place to stay? need a few rooms for the 29-30th Sept & 1st October, any help will be good.

Hay, it's not about the car, it's not about the venue, it's about the people that come here. Peter Dwyer, Mayor of Hay NSW.

Will you have cars Doogie? I mean to drive to and for QLD raceway. You won't find a great deal at Willowbank.

Try:

I would be looking for motels and caravan parks in these areas:

Amberley
Ipswich (south)
Goodna
Redbank Plains

There should be more than enough around there.

There is a new 'International' Hotel opened up in Ipswich for just this reason to cater for the racing people in particularr the QLD 300.
Below is the direct web-site:
www.ipswichinternational.com.au/
Or try for it cheaper closer to the event through Wot If:
www.wotif.com/hotels/ipswich-international-hotel.htm

Staying in Ipswich you get to see the progression of lapping Torana's and Hot VB - VH Commodores!

I would also offer a place to stay but small house on small block so not much space for all the stuff, and I have a basketball tournament in Grafton that weekend, if I am not going I will come along for a look. Good Luck

You are welcome to stay at my place. :)

I am at Arana hills, which is ~45min trip from Willowbank.

Willowbank is not far from where I work.

If you don't mind the commute, the offer is open.

Sorry guys, thanks for all the offers, staying in the Sundowner in Ipswich on the Saturday & Sunday nights & bunking at a friends place on Friday night (this will mean a hangover for the Saturday motorkhana practice) Once again thanks to everyone, hope to see some of you out at Willowbank seeing the Cooper S getting used for what it was built for, fanging.
