OK so I bought the wheel / trye 'special' from tempe tyres.

I just wanted to post some facts on this, so people don't get caught out.

1. Thay are a bargain - I did a ring around.
2. The rims are excellent - look good, feel good.
3. The tyres (145's) look shitehouse. They are too thin for the rim and have an ordinary tread pattern.
4. You MUST have Cooper S or Clubman S track (ie: Spaced drums with flares) or standard track with no flares. If you have flares and standard track - forget it, they are the wrong offset.

These pics show 'S' track (spaced drums) with flares. Perfect fit!

If you want these rims, my tip is to option up to 165's. That's the only thing I would do different. Hope this hepls anyone thinking about buying them.

Man you really need 165's ay, how much extra is it to go for 165's, surely that will do a change over?

yea those 145's are cheese cutters.

Funny though, my stock S rims had 145's on them, and they look much wider. I think you can see one in the second pic.

I foolishly didn't price 165's.....

fiddle sticks the law sucks.

On a brighter note; Anton, your car ROCKS.
You should see about getting some rover or Mk4 tail lights from the UK even if you don't use the clear tops, they still look better, and have a separate reverse light. 8)

Well they do have steel inserts in them for the nuts, which is better & safer than a certain similar Australian wheel.
Not sure about the offset though- look a bit skinny to me. Be good on a Deluxe if you don't want flares... ay Chong!

bah...I gave up on the 'original' idea.

I am creating this thing the way it should have been created.

Kev I know that rim looked wrong on your sons clubby, but it's perfect on the rear on mine.

Does your son have innocenti flares? they are wider. That might have been the prob. :?

Nope- it's a Mini Clubbie S, with original flares- but only the metal bits are on it at the moment- the POS plastic flares self destructed a while back, and he's saving $cubic for some newies..
Maybe it was the fat ass 10x5 Hotwires and 165 Falkens we took off it.. :P

hmmm.... that rim looked wrong on the front. Might have been the disc brakes?

You can see in the pics that the offset on the rear is perfect!

Have to wait and see I spose.

At the end of the day, they cost me nothing......the Civic paid for them.

Maybe it's because we had it jacked up... we should have dropped it & rolled it back. :?
