Good for traction, ah no! Maybe if it was a slick or semi, with the right compund, and right temperature. Aint gunna be much good on the street, even worse in the wet. If the car is roadworthy, why the hell has it got a loose tie rod end then. Your just shootin yourself in the foot here man. I dont think it would matter what state you were in, the wear indicators are there for a reason. Im sure cops in any state would say that tyre is defective.

OK i was just stirring the pot. Don't shoot me.

The steering arm was entirely not my fault - but a mechanic who did the steering rack not too long ago.

I realise that the tires are bald enough to be defective- and that is why I had ordered the tires on friday already. Just the cops had to step in when it was all under control.

To stir a little more - it wont be long till its a slick, its still rubber, isnt it? and i can get the temperature up on the tires quickly, dont u worry.

Nobody is perfect. No car is... well maybe yours.

Ok now kill me.

fiddle sticks man, thats some funny crap ay!!!! You make me laugh. Sounds like a bit of bad timing I guess on the cops behalf yeah. As for bald street tyres, they are still the wrong compound to provide good traction even when hot.

Ha, I wish my car was perfect!!! The builder always knows its faults.....

Road tyres DO hang on better as they wear down, but only in the dry. And only if they wear evenly....
Way back when Formula Ford started here the control tyre was an Avon Turbospeed crossply, 6.95?x13 I think. They were routinely buffed down to half the tread depth, or they were not competitive.
I used to get my boss's new Avons for his race car and `buff them down' on my Fiat 124S.. for 10,000 miles or so.. it saved wasting good rubber!
And those Avons were MAD in the wet.. :P

Yeah :(
Lucky we both know that minis are never perfect... well they are if you have a bottomless wallet, which no-one around here has been able to find.

Ah well... anyone got some money tree seeds?

What year was your RX4?

If it was pre-76 (pre ADR 27A) they cannot defect you for an aftermarket air filter!

Yeah it was just really a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. All they were doing was a "Licence check" and then of course because I am a P plater they started checking other stuff.

That, and because my car is wicked too.
