just got it back from mincraft 2 weeks ago...

she tries to start, then starter motor just spins, then after 2 goes shes just dead, even jump starting same deal...volt meter reads 12.5 volts on tap and battery is only 3 months old...

new starter motor? coil?

try tapping the solinoid to make sure she is getting a good earth.

Starting slowly is either battery, starter or bad earth on the motor or it could be too far advanced and trying to crank over on firing stroke causing the motor to try spin backwards. (if that makes sense)

if i keep turning the key it will do nothing, nothing, nothing then fire, then nothing, nothing, nothing etc

ill do some testing, thans for your prompt reply!

otherwise she will get trilered back to minicraft:)

Check the battery terminals. Are they loose and dirty or are they clean and tight?

had this prob on the day my rego was due, and this is what i did takes an hour to do but will prolly work,

clean battery terminals, both battery and lead,
check lead for breakage,
check the battery grounding,
check engine grounding,
mine has the gemini starter and i had to run a ground for the starter so check that,

when you say it spins do you mean it makes a whining noise but does nt turn the engine cause my old starter used to do that,

when you say battery is 3 months old where do you keep it, in the car or on the ground,

i have been driving it every day for the last week then today, 2 days of not using it, i didnt start.

Yeh it makes a spinning noise but doesnt crank over.

ill shall spend the day checking all leads cables battery coil and starter motor i guess...

thanks everyone for you input

oh an battery is in the car, boot, terminals are clean and tight...

My best bet is definately the starter motor.
