I go a step further - if it doesn't have external door hinges, it's not a real mini... those late model rover minis weren't exactly cheap and cheerful motoring...

:D

And the other old saying... "Never argue with an idiot - he'll drag you down to his level and beat you with experience!"

Back on topic, I spend a bit of time driving my sisters Cooper S MINI, it's fun, I like it. Looks great. But don't know if I would buy it. Needs more power I reckon.

Which reminds me of a question I asked on here a while back, but I don't think we really answered. Is it just me, or do most clubby owners look like they've been hit with the same ugly stick as their cars? :?

:P

ok Betty, you're the exception.

does putting down other people make yourself feel good?

these kind of arguments bring down the whole community.

Wow, you're a bit slow aren't you? :D

Interesting how you ignored the smileys that indicated this comment was firmly tongue in cheek. Conflictive people are the ones who do the most damage.

Now move on before you have to get the mods to delete the thread because you've been made to look foolish like the last time.

ben i'm going to slap you for that comment then tracey will punch you in the nose .....
brett it was still the same basic car as was built in 59 with updates
as all cars do but i feel and this is my own opinion not formed by someone else (although opinions are like arseholes everyone has one) that the car that was built is not really true to the mini institution ...
and as for bmw what did they do bought rover kept the mini name as they new it was the cream name to keep and sold the rest and then it went down the gurgler ....
poki and i have had this discussion in person . was funny when we meet
we all like differnt cars i also like dodge's valiants well any thing mopar specially a barracuda (dream car) i like bikes as well ducati's are my first love but i also own a harley but that is because i need a bike i can ride for 4 hours and not walk like a cripple cos my back is rooted ...
poki i though you would have realised by now that for every action there is a reaction and you react to easily (no offense) but it is like playing a marlin use enuff drag to keep the line taught but not so loose you get spooled
peace and love
makka
:D

So every English "Mini" built after 1972 wasn't indeed a Mini?

What was it?? :?

Yeah I do take the bait every time but my posts in this thread are not me getting all that worked up about it (its only a little bit worked up say 2 out of 10 ... I dont think anyone wants to see really cranky poki). To me, it is no different to the times we have met and good naturedly argued about this stuff and at the end you get told to shove it and then you bring out a nipple :P

That said, I will continue to take the bait every time because if someone doesn't challenge it the divide only keeps getting bigger - they don't necessarily upset me because I have met a number of you and found you all to be quite nice. They do upset other BINI owners though who cannot really tell if there is any jest in it or not because of the way it is expressed.

But meh, getting a talking to isn't half as fun as cringing at your nipple so back under my rock with me.

Good to see you saved me the effort of making you look stupid again by managing to do it all by yourself.
