I'm a bit lost... I'm sellling a set of 7.5" discs, and I have had about 7 people inquire about them in the past 24 hours. It would seem that discs are a hot item at the moment!!!
My problem is I dont know how hot. How much should I be looking to get for a set?
When I bought them I was assured that they were genuine cooper S discs, but I have no way of verifying this, I dont want to sell someone discs and have them come back 6 months later telling me they aren't the real deal.
So my two problems are:
What are the distinguishing features of genuine cooper S discs
and
How much should I charge for a pair (assuming they are genuine) in very restoorable condition (that is the disc has very little rust and is straight, comes with the CVs and shafts... but will no doubt require everything rubber to be replaced and a new set of pads. Not sure if the caliper cylinder is siezed either.)
Also selling completely restored boosters...
Cooper S discs are 7-1/2" diameter x 3/8" thick (when new) and the centre hub nut is 1-5/16" hex size.
The brake pads have 2 split pins through them, with no spring clip.
Same brakes were fitted to Oz Clubman GT.
If they measure 7" diameter x 1/4" thick (when new) and have a 1-1/8" hex nut they are the earlier 997 or 998 ones.
Going price for good rebuildable S ones is $600- $1000. For the latter they would want to be REAL good.
