Aw crap , hope you can get this all sorted out and quickly . Anything we can do to help reduce the cost of the repairs (find you bits etc )?

hmm why do you need the salvage rights? The guy told me that if they are written off, you basically get the car as is, plus a cheque for the remainder of the value, if that makes sense. Or is that only when you HAVE salvage rights that happens?

Shannons generally give you salvage rights, was the assessor from Shannons or not?
I checked when I transferred Ha-Ha to Shannons, they said salvage rights was normal.
ie. if it's ever a writeoff I get the do$h AND the wreck. 8)

Most other insurers you have to fight them and pay $$$, or even go bid at auction, to get it back...

Salvage rights are free if the car is over 35 years old, and its an option on the policy
(so it will cost you) if the car is less than that age.

Please carefully read the posts before you slander someone - Emm has got salvage rights, it will be in writing on the policy regardless of what the assessor said.

Was it written off? Sorry if this seems to be a silly question, but I back tracked over the posts and didnt see what the assessor man said

here's an update... (as requested by Sports Eight Fitty)

Josh kindly aquired some flares for me last week. (thank you!)
On a rainy and gloomy saturday I drove an hour to see my baby, and drop the flares off.
But they were shut.
I dropped her off on a saturday so i was like :x
So I drove an hour back home.

I ring before I go today (just to make sure!)
I also bought some new hinge pins.
I go back there today, and I see her sitting out the front.
Boy, was it good to see her again! :D

And here she is.. not finished, should be done some time after this weekend.
These pics are more or less all the same..
I just got over excited with the camera. haha

There's a small crack in the top right hand corner that he missed.
I pulled out my whip, and it will be done.
And that part at the tip of the sill will be polished up too.

not too shabby huh!
