I did the racing stripes on my van with cans...... I think I even washed it first

then I did the roof with cans, and masked the racing stripes, but the masking tape peeled the stripes off

the latest bit of paint I put on it was some Camino Gold flames with leftover paint in my airbrush... fully sick man

fellas,
you know that he did it in a day
you know that he did it himself
you know that it was a rush job done in the open air, in the dark, in the driveway
the purpose of this thread was not to show his skills in preparing and painting, but to share abit of a laugh at the 'hardwork' and 'incredible' thing he did today, and you guys go and get serious and criticise him.

its like criticising cush because he didnt tape his aluminium foil properly to the radiator hoses and letting the foil scrunch and crease before laying it down.

here we go again  ok, all i said was that you can see alot of imperfections in the job, which is from not prepping the car the right way, its constructive critisism, if everyone just said everything was good what kind of boring world would it be. the only way you can improve is if you know that there is room for it! it doesnt cost much to get a good job from a can

mate, i know what i did, i simply do not have the skills or the time required to do a nice prep job, so rather than having a crappy ugly green paintjob, i have a crappy cool black paintjob

I didn't think the paint was that bad before?

am i the only one who liked silver/green better than black?

you picked the worst colour to spray without any skills ryan, hats off for having a go though  8)

yeah i knew what i was getting into with the black, i really hated the silver green really.

I agree with Duccer.

Ryan, i like what you did with the car in a matter of hourse. I know that you know its
not perfection, but i dont think that was your aim either.

Guys if you dont have some sort of positive contribution probably best not to say anything!!

Good work Ryan, and keep postin up the pics!

The only mistake he made was renaming the thread. 8)

Black is a pain in the arse colour. It takes a lot of effort to get a black paint job to look good. Some cars just don't have the shape for black and I think the mini is one of those cars. I have never seen a good black paint job on a mini.

yeah well its all a bit of fun anyway.
i'm learning, and becoming better at it.
i have seen very nice minis in very nice black..

one thing this whole thing has done is convince me to get a professional job..
but yeah, once i have money for it which wont be for awhile as i have other priorities which i hope i can tell everyone about on here when they happen. 8)
