Very interesting! I see there is a bolt through the 'fingers' of that bracket, to hold the bulb in place.

So the twin SU heatshield was a standard common item shared by many different BMC cars running twins? You would think it would have been cheaper to only add that bit on the heatshield to the cars that needed it.

No, then you have 2 part numbers... more chance of running out of stock and more tooling up.
BMC liked the one shirt fits all approach. :wink:
