I've seen this in ebay and just wondering if it does really work or is it just the same as adjusting the two big bolts all the way out away from the housing?

Anyone bought this item or tried it?

AH so that's it - Paul is sending me one in return for some voltage regulators. He says it takes the slop out of the clutch and keeps everything up one end of the shaft - be interesting to see how it goes - he is a man that knows what he's doing - been around Mini's since the begining 8)

That would only take the slop out of the clevis arm and shaft assy that the throwout bearing sits on? If ur clutch is not adjusted correctly or worn it wont solve crunching gears.

The 2 big nuts are to stop clutch overthrow, I think this would only happen if you "pumped" the pedal a few times. i don't have any as they don't make my car go any faster :P

The spring in the shot just pulls the release bearing back, if the arm is worn then this setup is better as a correct adjustment would not bring the release bearing off the clutch correctly.

I suspect the set up would also allow a tighter adjustment, this would result in a longer throw and better feel.

I would still recommend anyone to replace worn components of the clutch before doing dodgy stuff like welding longer pushrods, bending arms etc.

all that thing does is exactly the same as the arm return spring that is usually at the top of the arm across to the slave cylinder.
