Just curious. Ive been doing my 998 for ages (nothing to serious though, just a bore and cam) But I know of at least 2 other people going for high power 998s
at the moment.

Interesting, as I love 998s and good to see them getting some work :)

I had a bored out 998 motor put in just over a month ago and has now just done a 1000ks.

It has been bored to 1030cc, balanced, 282 cam grind, duplex timing chain, Pulsar distributor, Gemini starter motor, electric fuel pump. The head is a 12G202 that has had a bit of work done to it.

It has extractors and 2" exhaust and at the moment running with a 1.5 SU but I am putting on a 1.75 SU in the next few days to see if that makes any improvement to the overall power of the car.

With the new motor the LS is a real fun car to drive now with enough power to pull away from the lights without bogging down and can sit quite nicely at 110Kph on the highway without running out of puff...

With the bigger motor, 8.4" discs and new suspension, the LS goes, handles and stops a whole lot better than the standard car it used to be..

Aaron and pete, you are indeed the two that i know of.

I love the small bores :)

I reckon at future dyno days, there should now be a seperate class in small bores between 998s and 1098s (of course it will also be dependant on the good nature of the competitos as sometimes the engine number lies :) :) )

Does an 1100 count? Bits away everywhere at the moment getting reground, repaired and modified. When it all goes back together it will sport a 295 modified head; RE flat top pistons; RE13 cam RE modiefied Pulsar dizzy, duplex timing chain, twin 1 1/4" SU's, 3 into 1 manifold into RC40 exhaust and 3.44 diff. Booster on the brakes.

Graham Russell reakons it will put out 85hp with plenty of torque down low
