I can't believe someone can have so many problems with one vehicle . Is Queensland covered by the MVRIC (Motor Vehicles Repair Industry Council) as well as New South Wales ? I'd be seeing who llicences and govern's mechanics up there and checking this guy's credentials as well .

Thanks Steve. Everything is nearly done so really all this car needs is an engine/gearbox rebuild. Too much work has gone into this car and it would wreck me just to give it up.

PS. Found out today this dodgy machanic buys engines/gearbox's from the wreckers and whacks a bit of paint on them and installs them as reconditioned. I am wondering if the first engine he installed into our mini was just from the wreckers.

You gotta wonder how a mechanic gets away with that sort of thing for any length of time.

Given most car enthusiasts passion, and how much time we all spend on our cars, it's a wonder no one has gone around and knee-capped the bastard.

How it works out for you mate.

Good luck Borris!

I hope you really nail this mechanic with your solicitors. I would be looking at a bit more than just the $4000.00 you originally paid him. I am not the type of person who encourages litigation but this really is a case that should go down that route.

These type of mechanics should not be out there at all.

Cheers,
Birty
