Okay, I may have already posted this somewhere on Ausmini in the past, but I cant be bothered searching for it.....

For anybody who may be contemplating a Supercharger installation of any kind, your best investment will be buying a book like this one.... and then reading it twice.

For an enthusiast to be able to bolt on a system that not only works but is reliable has always been a ?mystic art.? This is no longer the case! Clear and comprehensive information on how to select, size and install a successful and reliable supercharger system is provided in full detail.

For anyone interested in installing a supercharger system, or just learning about them, 'Supercharged! Designing, Testing, and Installation Of Supercharger Systems' is a must have book!

I thought I had everything covered before I read this book - I was very wrong. The chapter about THE BALANCE OF HEAT was worth every cent of that book. I cant stress how important it is to do your research.... it'll save you money in the long run.

It looks like the pressure release valve.

This basically is a safety device to stop the mainifold over pressuring and blowing to bits.
Much like a blow off valve in a turbo setup

Thanks

Bernard

Yep.... and it is spring loaded.

The only thing that worries me is "releasing" the boost at that location, above the exhaust. Remember, the fuel is already in the system before that point..... so the valve is releasing air AND fuel when it opens up.......

This valve only opens if there is a backfire and venting to atmosphere is OK as when a backfire occurs the fuel in the manifold is already burn (by backfire igniting it) and you get a little flash from valve , if valve is not fitted it will try and turn the supercharger backwards and damage it or the belt. The valve is set to blow off at a higher pressure than normal woking pressure and never opens during normal operation so fuel is not allowed to excape.

no problems, well the hardest bit was bolting the charger up and getting the extractors bolted on while all in the car,

got mine going on the weekend (finally got the rest of the exhaust made) now lets see how long my clutch lasts

really good kit tho, it really cuts down all the hard work and only needs minimal mods to get it all on and working

Mine is coming soon! I've got my carbie and supercharger sorted and 92's says he's started my kit, although it will be a while, I can't wait! The SC-12 are becoming a bit thin on the ground, I got mine through toymods, but not easily. Had to get it couriered from Sydney.
