i bought new plugs and leads for a couple of reasons
1. because the engine didn't feel right at higher revs/load
2 I noticed that one of the leads had bean rubbing on the grill and had worn down
3. because the car had been stationary for a while and deserved something new..
i drove it to work and back yesterday.... a good mix of uphill , downhill and traffic
there's a big difference...especially up the top of third and fourth...
On one stretch of a long straight downhill, i put the boot in and i had to back off as the needle sailed passed 75 and on towards 80, where previously it was a fair task to get it up there (even downhill)..
i was planning on attempting the timing (sans timing light) but then i decided to check how my timing was, since i was at brickworx anyway... i'm at about 10 deg advance.... so i don't need to bother..
but i'm slightly annoyed... because it means that the power i want, mean i need to start adding o removing things from the engine now...

any who, i'll be doing the tappets today with my new feeler guage...
it fangs well now... lets see if we canget it fanging quitely..
