NAV has been in contact with bigpond after I told him what the issue more than likely is (well through Gerard, thanks mate!).
Dear BigPond Customer,
Thank you for your email dated 13/12/2006 regarding difficulty accessing a particular website.
I have tested this website on our test computers and was able to access the website successfully.
A lookup on this website address indicates that this website is hosted with MD Webhosting. We have had a number of contacts recently where BigPond Broadband Cable and ADSL customers have been unable to access websites hosted on the MD Webhosting servers due to an issue with the DNS information for these webhosting servers not being updated in the BigPond DNS.
As well as testing the website you are experiencing difficulty with, I have tested other sites hosted by MD Webhosting that were reported to have this problem, and was also able to access these websites, while I could not do so on previous tests. This indicates that our server technicians have investigated the matter and have updated our DNS with the correct information for the MD Webhosting servers.
Please test the
www.ausmini.com on your BigPond Broadband Cable connection. If you cannot access the website, please complete the following steps:
* open Internet Explorer,
* click Tools,
* select Internet Options,
* click Delete Cookies,
* click Ok on the window that comes up,
* click Delete Files,
* click Ok on the window that comes up,
* click Ok on the Internet Properties window (when possible),
* close and then re-open Internet Explorer.
If the problem accessing the website still persists, please complete the following additional troubleshooting steps:
* click Start,
* click Run,
* remove any information currently entered,
* type "cmd" (without quotations),
* click Ok,
* type "ipconfig /flushdns" (without quotations),
* hit the Enter key on your keyboard,
* type "exit" (without quotations),
* hit the Enter key on your keyboard.
If you still cannot access the website, please perform another trace route to the website and reply with the results. The trace route results that you have supplied are inaccurate and do not allow us to identify where the actual problem may be occurring.
These results are inaccurate as they were performed using the Windows default trace route utility. This utility performs traces using data packets sized 92 bit, while BigPond has blocked data packets sized 64 bit and greater from some sections of the network.
In order to test where the problem lies, you will need to perform another trace route to the website and reply with the results.
As BigPond has blocked 64 bit packets from some sections of the network, you will need to use a third party diagnostic program to perform the trace route.
BigPond does not support or provide the necessary trace route program to enable you to trace route with 40 bit packets. You may be able to download one of these programs (if necessary) by searching for "trace route" (without quotes) on the following Unmetered download website.
