I have been looking at pictures of fellow ausmini member's engines n it seems as if the su's on some of them just look tiny? (might just be my eyes deceiving me  ) i dont know what size mine are and would like to know how you can check the size of them?? i think they may be around 1 3/4"?? any help would be much appreciated.

Couple of easy ways to check , 1 1/4 had two stud holes (on the manifold side)vertically opposed , 1 1/2 had 2 stud holes diagonally opposed and 1 3/4 had 4 stud holes in a square pattern . The other way is to pop your air cleaner off and measure the throat .

HS4 is the model. HS is the style (with the fuel bowl on the side) and the 4 is the size (not sure why it's "4", someone may know though).

The 4 is 4 X 1/8" to make 1/2" , SU made varius sizes from 1 1/8" (HS1) up to 2" (HS8 I think) that I know of , anyone know of bigger ? The number was just their way of saying the size without reverting to decimals or longer codes .

Not a cheap exercise-but I'm a sucker when it comes to twin SU's.I really like the look of them 8)
First of all,I swapped a weber set-up for the twin carbies(that saved heaps)
Filters cost $128.00 each.
Inlet manifold(from Maniflow UK) $295.00.
Plenty of clearance on the firewall.
