Not to mention when it does let you down you can normally fix it with whatever bits and bobs you carry in the boot , very rare to have to stick it on a tilt tray .

but it does happen. i required two trays with previous mini's... but then again i required two trays with a BINI too...

first mini was a great runner, red '78 clubman S, no problems really except for vapour lock in fuel line.. gave me a few problems before it was diagnosed.

second mini (turquoise '71 GT) was however a little more problematic. sheared a drive shaft... but that was my own fault... also broke a rocker shaft, it was driveable, but put it on a tray just to be sure. then it caught on fire, but that was <insert reputable mini shop in melbourne here>'s fault (coil bracket was mounted incorrecly, snapped, and the coil fell between positive terminal of alternator, and the engine block). Oh then the layshaft bearing (i think thats what its called) decided to self destruct, but that was just before we finished rebuilding the changeover engine/gearbox, so no great drama there, just replaced the whole lot.

both mini's now sold, but dont regret owning them one bit (wish i never sold them...). Would i do it again? most definately will - looking to buy my third mini within next 6 months :D

oh yeah i saw my first mini shell on here somewhere (for sale).. it was going to be turned into a toyota 4efte clubby by Ashley i think?
