I feel the same GT's are collectibles, and a bit of a waste to see any special mini get butchered. But think of how many nice cars get in accidents due to bad driving and it's almost stomachable.

I would think that I have seen a rotary mini Front engined and RWD put together somewhere overseas. If you change the drive in Austalia it has to comply with all current ADR's for rego. So rego's out of the option realistically. So really what ever goes. You have much more artistic licence with how it goes.

I would consider a Rear or mid mounted motor as this will help with traction there Mid probably will help with an even weight balance for better braking and handling. I would look at MR2 Motors They are reliable and the supercharged ones go reasonably hard when the boost is wound up. But if you want just outright street cred go a supercharged V8, but buy shares in a tire and oil co. first (this would help with the HOG in your project) Keep us informed whats happening

well done mick...... hit the nail on the head !!! Mechanical Eng..... this is sort of my major work for an honours class i hope to be attaining... hog motor run east west in full tube frame , 4w discs, sort shaft, still looking at possibly four wheel drive,( pending other outcomes ) and associated transmission selections... project is wild in concept!!!! toying up ideas of bib block s + s , Nitro... still looking into red tape and logistical outlays.
drag classes and road rules dont like each other so we are still looking at which way to go..
