Well I'd say it would have not much more power than a Cooper S did...

I've got a feeling a previous owner of this car was after info on it on ausmini about a year ago but can't remember his name , at least if it isn't this one it was one with the same paintjob . I'll see if I can find it .

yeh i do believe he was. we could buy the 1/34 inchs for the same price as the 1 1/4 inchs so we thought why not we can always change the needle...its also a pommy block.not that this helps the performance just giving specs.

You can change the needle but can you change the air velocity?

I think it would work better with one 1¾ or two 1¼ but not two 1¾.
Big is not always better. :?

IIRC having that much airflow capacity will give you a really free breathing top end, but you may pay for that in poor torque and low-RPM response. Unless you're building a race car, twin 1-1/4's are unbeatable in my book.. the only way to fly 8) 8)

What kind of cam do ya reckon it's got?

That might be able to give a better estimate of what's going on.

yeah i agree with others, twin 1 3/4's sounds a bit much for what you've described

I've seen a race mini with a 998 and twin 1 3/4's , defintiely not feasable for road duty as it barely ran below 4,000 rpm but over that was scary all the way to 8,000 rpm . A standard 1275 with mild porting on the other hand might be a bit over carbed , it'll run and want to go faster than the valves will allow but you're likely to lose out in the lower revs . Still , drive it and have fun , that's what it's made for .
