The $20k Moke is also not correctly identified - it is a 1976 Moke (extra panel for reversing light) and is therefore not galvanized (which a 1979 one should be), and the description says it has rust in the battery box and the floor is an unknown quantity because of the sealant all over the floor (never a good sign).

It also apparently has an 850 engine, and it doesn't have the side windows, which a 1979 certainly would. For $20K I'd at least want a 1275 galvanised Moke!

i know an old bloke, back in the day when the 1275 cooper S came out he bought 2 of them, one to drive around daily and one to go to the shed.
he still has the one in the shed, has around 7000 miles on the clock, everything still original and mint, even the tires.
if i was after something like that i'd pay 50k for it.
but that would be a car i couldnt drive, belongs in a museum. therefore i wouldnt buy it.

The wise rich said money would be well spent if they bought the recently discontinued sports monaro's and stick them in a shed with very few miles on them.

I am certainly not one of the rich either wise or not.

I don't think the race history of this car warrents the price asked.

There are certainly ex race cars that could get that price easily. The most desirable would have to be the ex Manton Morris Cooper 997 owned by Keith Mckay. It has a great racing history with many wins and lap records, it has association with the great Peter Manton and has unquestionable provenance as Keith bought it from the great man himself.

I just dont see a Mini that ran at Bathurst after the Mini was anywhere near competitive to be that historically significant.
