Those things are an accident waiting to happen. I believe illegal to use here in Oz, but not to sell. Stupid, huh...

On the other hand, plain spacers with the wheel studs/bolts going through them were used on many European cars including Fiat. Legal if `factory fitted'.

............. so long as they are also attached to the hub flange in some way (Fiat use wheel locating lugs) so that they do not 'float'.

Lol, Cush, just go get some spaced drums, not that rare, I got myself a few sets from u pull it with long bolts for 10 bucks a drum (complete drum and brake setup for rear).

No you can't have em, they are spares for when mine die and need machining, I'll just swap 'em over.

its not illegal in oz cause aftermarket rim wholesalers sell them for there own rims, but they are extremely dangerous and i would not recommend them on any car, the fact is that ur rim will not be sitting on ur hub anymore but only the spacer and the wheel studs so when the wheel studs snap from the pressure guess where ur wheel and tyre go...

LOL sorry doc but yeah its dumb how its illegal to use them but u can sell them same with turbo blow off valves and pod filters its illegal to have them installed a certain way but u can buy them from any parts store

As long as you tighten your wheel nuts properly I don't see any problem with it. The ones linked would probably work, but they don't have too much "meat" to them, expecially considering their thickness. I wouldn't use them anyway.

Apart from that, if you snap wheel studs either with or without spacers your wheel will come off. The only difference it will make is that it may allow a bit more flex in the wheelstuds which will fatigue them over time. This would only be a problem if the wheel nuts aren't tight enough (and then they are likely to come off anyway) or if the spacer is too flimsy and flexes too much. It will also make some differences to bearing loads and whatever.

They are a piss poor design that will cuase bending loads in the studs and the extension stud/nut is very badly made and will probably break at the bottom of the thread like I have seen them do quite a few times.

The way the nuts fit inside the spacer in one position meand that you can not get them tight or they are too tight.

If I could afford it I would buy them off ebay and cut them up so nobody gets hurt.

They are illegal in New zealand too but you can buy them with no problems
