Hi, what would a full set of disc brakes weigh, 7.5" and 8.4"? Does handling change much if using either one? (from drums)
Read that sometimes a set of adjustable arms were needed or is this only if going to a non mini disc setup?
Thanks.
7.5" S or 8.4" late Mini brakes are a tad heavier than drums but you won't notice it.
You only
really need adjustable lower arms and tiebars if using Metro swivel hubs, which have different balljoint geometry.
If using a Honda or Camira (for example) brake conversion on drum swivel hubs, the geometry is unchanged except track is wider (about same as the S setup).
Disc brakes are well worth it over drums, IMO. Whatever the cost.
