No offense to anyone, but I think its plain stupid and equally as dumb as tailgating if you slam your brakes and cause an accident.

When someone slams into your rear end, dies and leaves a a child behind (father-less or mother-less) its on you the rest of your life.

Dont cause accidents on purpose, I think thats stupid.

Yes , a sensible approach , too many risks involved just to be able to say "I was right" when your car's been written off and the ambulance is sitting there treating one or more young guy's .

Most police are fairly sharp and realise that in a rear ender like that with the front car stopping for no good reason, that something silly has happened. I think that they can get heavy and issue charges certainly for the tail gateing and failing to stop in time, but also for "releckness endangerment" for the front car.

In any case I see it as a pretty hollow victory to have your own car smashed up to prove a point to a stranger.
