your going to have add a mini k to that list soon ian......
mylist
1970minik, strip down whatever i need for the 850 and send it to ians place.
850-finish painting, start build up, get 16v head up and going, make up interior and get it rego'd (thats the nice version of the list)
68 windowless van, strip it down, fix up whatever is under the paint, start grafting a 98 rover halfcut onto it. etc etc
start recovering costs, find a moke, start again, somewhere along the line buy some land and make a couple of kids.

I know Geoff, I've been tempted to copy your avatar pic , remove the lights and wheels , put coming soon across it and add it to my sig pic  It will be right at the end of the to do list unfortunately :( . For those playing along at home , Geoff's mini K was built in the month/year I was born so I'm rebuilding it as my 40th birthday project (few years to go yet :D )

Moke:
Have to fit Metro dash cluster and redo dash, which will hopefully fix:
- Fuel gauge dead.
- Speedo inaccurate.
- Tacho works when it feels like it.
- RH speaker has quit.
Also:
- Shifter cable needs shortening, currently doing a loop in the tunnel!
- Rear window gone milky and needs replacing.
- LF tyre has a slow leak.
- Starter motor dodgy - works sometimes!
- Tow bar needs fixing.
- Oil leak at the diff.

Traveller:
- Needs exhuming from under junk.
- New front panel, RH A panel and RH guard
- New door skins
- Extensive panel beating to rear quarters, roof and floor.
- Paint job.
- Wood kit.
- Replacement front subframe
- Suspension rebuilt.
- Brakes rebuilt.
- Engine and gearbox rebuilt.
- Wiring replaced (chewed by mice)
- Interior totally replaced (also chewed by mice!)

Now I'm depressed. :(

after hearing all your woes, the fact tha my car isn't roadworthy for a host of reasons, inlcuding needing a new floor, seems trivial compared to some of your issues.

This is like self help for mini owners isn't it ! :?

since my yellow clubby sold
i'm reduced to a 1976 ls clubman

1100 cc that i can't start
missing carby
speedo tacho fuel temp gauges don't work
big rust hole in boot
missing two boot lid hinges
missing fuel pump
missing battery
car has to be completely re wired as the old wiring loom has been added to and cut into over the years and consists of many many redundant strands of redundant wire
and the bonnet hinges are bent to the point where the bonnet won't go on the car straight

on the up side i'm fairly sure my brakes work well..........

97 Rover Mini Mayfair

clunky gear changes
rust in drivers door
broken window pillar
paint missing from roof from where the radio aerial hits!!
broken heater cable
"throaty" sound that is apparently not the exhaust.

Just lots of undiagnosed issues that no mechanic in Gladstone, QLD has any idea about.
