hey.

this mini is making me question happy!!!

so as stated in another post. my mini was cutting out and running bad, and the lights were dimming at night.

thort the generator was cactus, but seems not imo.

it staarted fine the day after all this happened, and again eveything worked.

then a copla days later it needed a jumpstart, but it got going.

now my problem.

it just goes click, the sound tehy make when they wanna crank but battery is flat...

so i tried jumpstarting to no avail.

so i took the battery outa my daily and put that in, and no. still makes 1 click on the turn of the key then nothing. is it possible to miss all the other wiring, and just put a push button on the dash? just battery to button to starter motor??

any suggestions on problems?

thx jamie

entirely possible, but it would be even better to find the intermittant fault. Someone from here will probably help, but I suspect it is a bared wire occasionally touching earth

Starter motor is seized in my opinion. Try anoher starter motor and see how you go.

Cheers

Yeah possible....put the car in gear and move it backwards and forwards - that may free up the starter as well.

Seized or burnt out and being a dead short . Just had that trouble with the sports850 and it was frustrating to find , since the spare starter I tried did the same thing
