Hi everyone. Just joined the other day when my Cooper S started giving me grief. Does anyone know the ins and outs of pcv valves?
I took the pcv valve off my Mk2 S, because it was hooked up all wrong. It was all oily so I gave it a clean. When i had it all appart I noticed insidde the base part is a type of valve and spring arrangement. Well it was a type of valve in mine, because it actually fell out. Not the rubber bit and spring that fits into it, but a very small thing like a 5 cent piece size. It was right inside the base part of the pcv. Before you couldn't see through it and now you can see straight through.
The engine is smokey now and it never was before. I wonder whether oil is being sucked straight through it now?
