Here is my an attempt to mount a rover brake master to my 1971 round nose.

I've modified the little plate that the old cylinders mounted to (and engine steady) and also the bit that the bonnet arm sits in.

I'm wondering if anybody has pictures of how much to chop away so that the bonnet arm
can sit in the booster bracket.

you would also want to modify the bolt(and bracket) going through the firewall...
turn it around 180 degrees, otherwise your bonnet will never shut properly.

Didn't think of that about the bolt.

Thats what i was asking about what modification needs to be done to the booster bracket, because it looks like i almost have to cut threw the whole thing, to allow for the bonnet to shut.

do you have pictures??

my car is at work... and no camera at home for the other.
can get some photos later if need be.
i put a slit straight through the bracket 10mm wide.
main bolt still holds it all together fine

On the topic of rover brake boosters, how the hell do you get the servo back together?

I've tried talc, and lube on the edges that rub on the metal but i can't get it to turn the last 20-30 degrees. Any hints ?

Arn't the bonnit hinges on a rover more to the side? I had a 1/2 cut a while ago and that was one of the things I noticed :? I may be wrong but can you check that brickworx seeing as you deal with them :)

Years ago I had the same problem on similar my Fiat brake booster (Bendix brand)- I cut 2 thick steel plates 6" square and drilled them to bolt on the front and back half. Then I welded a 12" long piece of 3/4 round bar to each, as a handle. Worked a treat. :lol:

Indeed they are, i believe they are in the same place as clubmen bonnet hinges. However the booster bracket (the bit in black in my picture) can be modified to suit.

Instead of modifying the rover brake booster bracket i decided to make a new bonnet arm which clears the brake booster bracket. It still needs a little cleaning up.

Hey steve, what did you do about pedals ? did you use rover pedals or the original round nose pedals ?
