So i put some knox auto carpet in the mini of the weekend.....i have cuts all over my hands and my back hurts.

A big thank you to 1970 mini K and the help guide he put up.

Heres some pics for those interested.

For anyone considering a cheaper alternative that don't need a show car finish this is a good option and not to hard to fit.

Its hard to tell, but the previous carpet was like that speaker material with no insulation underneath.

I would have to say the hardest part was getting the seating mounts in.

p.s. i know my steering wheel is crap im working on it.

I used those in my son's Clubby and Tru-Fit ones in mine. Both were done years ago. They are/were really very similar.

I bought the knox carpets, very quick service. I went with the plush kind...

Plush - $140.00
Sound insulation F/R - $90.00
Delivery - $25.00

3M Autocarpet Glue - $25.00 (hard to find go to a specialist e.g. paint supplier or interior people)

Checkout this post, it helped the most

The only thing i would add to this is.
Don't put insulation all the way back to the seat mounts, leave some space otherwise its difficult to get in.

I leave all the insulation out- it's a Mini, underlay is bound to get wet and rust the floor.

What perfect timing for this thread. I'm getting new carpet for the Rover Mini, and was heading over to this mob tomorrow, they do great carpets and are just around the corner from me too. :D

The Rover floor pan is different to the Aussie ones - all aussie floors have the "bump" for the push starter while the later UK ones have a straight tunnel in the front. The carpet is the same size, just has a different "shape" heat formed into it. If they are just around the corner it may be worth letting them see the difference and make one that suits your floor better.
