The rootes type 'charger WILL allow air through it when not being turned by the pulley (broken belt or switched off clutch). The vacuum is powerful enough to drawn air through the 'charger which is probably using energy, but anyways, it does work.
Once I took off from a set of lights and shifted into second and put my foot down, the car took off like a rocket (as you'd expect) and then suddenly the circuit breaker which is connected to the electric clutch blew. Suddenly no power but car still ran fine, revved fine. Sounded quieter too! But no big power rush when you put your foot down.
I've switch the electric clutch to a 30amp circuit breaker and haven't had any more issues, but dam that's a lot of current! I'm going to have to put in a relay too, these clutchs must get dodgy in old age.
Also another thing I should mention is the petrol cleans the supercharger out nicely, mine is beautiful inside, whether or not that's a good thing I have no idea.
