Good choice Hanra - D01J tyre of choice for most tarmac ralliest's and motorsport competitors. Personally, I am a real dunlop fan!

Cheers,
Tricky

Ok, Ive had an idea.

To help me and everyone else decide on the best tire for them I think we should put together a table of tire makes and availability.
Ok suggested format;

Mileage should be for average driving use...
Also I know many people disagree on tires so lets just try and make a guide to help people chose.

70-R10
Tire Sizes Avg Mileage Suitability
Dunlop Formula R - D01J 145-165 >5000 kms Weekend Warrior or Rally

Bridgestone SF226 145-165 20000+ kms Daily Driver

Yoko A032 145-165 5000-10000 kms Weekend Warrior or Rally

55-R12
Dunlop Formula R - D01J 145-165 >5000 kms Weekend Warrior or Rally

Ok I need some input from the rest of you as I havn't driven on anything bar bridgestones.

Sorry this is hard to read will try and make a table

tyres made for economy (sime,falken,bridgestone,kumho)
performance road tyres(dunlop,pirelli,yokohama)
and street legal race tyres.(dunlop,yokohama)

Go for the street legal 'race' tyres. You know you want to. 8)

Have you considered the Dunlop D93J? It's more of a wet weather tyre. It's cheap and grips like anything. Probably not as good as D01J or Yoko's but still makes similiar priced tyres look like shite - that I know from experience.

My $0.02 for what it's worth.

My choice of tyres from Dunlop in order of preference.............
1. D01J
2. DZ02G
3. D76J

Not sure if you can get the D76J for 10" wheels.

I havent had Yoko's since I had the A9X, and back then they were good tyres with good grip levels wet and dry, but found they would wear prematurely - I then changed to Bridgestones.

In my limited and humble motorsport experience, I would agree with Slinkey and say go the street legal race tyre like the D01J.

Cheers,
Tricky

d98j is bigger than you want for a road car 175/60R13 @ 543mm

Yokohama A048R is 175/50R13 @ 505mm

That's 1.5inch difference.
===============================
From what i can see:

D01J is the only tire listed that will fit a mini in 12"

D93J in a 10"

I can't find any 13" Dunlop R Rated Tires to fit.

A048R is avail in both 12" and 13" in mini sizes.
