The Jag has cruise control but I disconnected it as it was very dangerous in the wet.

The only reason I am asking is that the Moke is undertaking a Northern Safari soon and the thought of my foot welded to firewall for 5 hours didnt appeal.

Would have been easier to just not use it in the wet?

Cruise control is not good in the wet in any car. A lot of owners manuals say not to use it in the wet.

I have used the ones that K-mart used to sell and Supercrap sell. You can see them on E-bay.

A hand throttle is not a cruise control. It does not apply more power for going up hills or back off going downhills. It also does not turn off when you hit the brakes.

There is a bloke selling kits on ebay.
Cruise Control Kit AP60
Cruise Control Kit AP150 You also need to fit a clutch switch on a Manual box.
There is also a bloke selling this AUSCRUISE-AC3000

Yeah my motorbike had a factory fitted throttle lock screw. I used it once on the highway and then ripped it out and binned it. Problem was I forgot about it and only remembered after I had opened the throttle wide open to overtake and it stayed there....

Change of undies required??

I cheated and had it professionally fitted but the cost was a bit high.
I had to laugh when I collected the car afterwards. The fitter was frothing at the mouth and described the Mini as "diabolical" :D :D

I was waiting to see what you had ben - does it brake down hills? what do you think of it?

How does it attach to the starlet motor?

It senses road speed and adjusts throttle accordingly via a vacuum operated actuator. So doesn't apply brakes but backs off throttle and the engine does the braking and maintains speed within about 5kpa aslong as the hill isn't too steep, I am quite happy with it made driving to Hay and to MDU alot better not having to consantly watch speed as the throttle peddal is quite sensitive.
