my brother is gonna buy me mini stuff in england for chrissy.

so what is cheap and good to get there compared to here?
i'm more wanting performance parts, ie. water heated manifold.
things that are cheaper over there compared to here, i will also be buying things over there at the same time so he can buy things all at once and sent back in one.

I think all the shiny stuff makes good sense, it is dirt cheap. Things like grill buttons, badges that kind of thing.

Also suspension rubbers, mounts etc can be good buying. Most of the heavy clunky stuff is good buying right up until you have to have it posted, so mind the weight if you do.

Mini Spares sell a cheapish pressed steel R/H fuel tank, but you can only buy it over the counter.. if I were in the UK, I'd grab one of those ;)

I am going to UK this Xmas. I am going to go and check out the mini shops and bring back as much small stuff as I can afford. The exchange rate is bad though. I would rather buy stuff in euros somewhere in Europe.

yeah a RH tank would be awesome.
mum and dad are gonna look after a bit of the freighting costs.

(also any items that are rare over here i might be able to sell for a reasonable profit.)

If you carry it out of the country you can get the VAT (GST) at 17.5% back by going to the counter in Heathrow. I don't know how you go about it if you post back. That will make a big difference to whether a part is cheap or not landed.

anything with kad written on it, 4 pot callipers, adjustable shocks, hi los, turbocharger kits, etc.. worth alot over here the frieght would be worth paying.. when i was there i bought cooper s discs, callipers, hubs etc all in pretty good order, worked out at 250 dollars plus about 100 for frieght on a few things that wouldnt go in the suitcase.. some wood and pickett flares for 20 pounds, chrome boot hinges which accually look quite nice. a brand new rod change gear selector housing, which is just sitting around now.. various stickers and badges.. hi los,... cant remember anything else.. rover gauges are cheap too i payed 20 pounds for mine off ebay uk.. and they looks beautiful..

up to you what you want though.. and alot of the mini places are in the midlands so where your brother goes is an issue too..

With all the people wanting Turbo mini's I would seriously recommend you grab a box full of HIF44 Metro Turbo Carbs, Plenums and Intake Manifolds. You will be happy with the returns you get on your $

Pete.
