Yes , Gadgets idea is good , though your wife might get suspicious when she's never heard of Big Al's Meats and can't find it locally , then decides it's a knock shop and you nuts are nailed to the bed post ......

Like Matt said , something simple that comes up quick on searches , mini-parts , mini-pieces , mini-speed , mini-place , the mini shed .....

I have to go with Ian as well on a simple name. Might sound boring but the objective is to get business and make a living. I needs a name with mini in it somewhere.

There is a person in Sydney who is partly restoring minis and mainly getting them to the point of registration for his clients. Only partly restoring because it is high detail work and you can't recover the cost of the hours and hours of labour. But getting a mini to the point of registration is a lot simpler and its the area where most backyarder fall down.

Anyone know how you go using Mini in a name since BMW owns the rights to it , do you need to approach them for permission to use it for a buisiness ? Brickshop etc would be good but mightn't show up as easily when people search for "mini parts" . How does Steve get on with Brckworx , do people find him by searching for mini parts or from advertising ?

Don't forget when people are searching on line you can set up "Tags" so you are listed with the correct search words. Works on all search engines and I'm pretty sure you can do the same in the Yellow Pages online.

BMW does not own the word Mini. Otherwise all the Mini Golf places would have to change their names.

True , but they have rights to it in relation to mini's , just check it out legally before registering the buisiness name though (Hey , if I register this name for my buisiness will I have to get permission from BMW ?) .

I have already checked this out. They own the Mini - bt they do not own words containing Mini - eg BitsforMinis as one word

There's plenty of other Mini businesses around with 'Mini' in their name, I wouldn't worry about it.

I wouldn't go calling yourself Ballistic Mini Garage though, that might get their attention ;)
