Prepared by the Competitions Department at Abingdon, 'OBL 45F' was initially intended to take part in BMC's International Rallying programme. However, the increasing dominance on forest, tarmac, gravel and snow stages of designs such as the Porsche 911 and Alpine 110 etc meant that this Mini began and ended its Works career as a circuit racer.
Competition Career:
March 1969 Brands Hatch International Meeting - John Handley
One of two Works entries for the event, 'OBL 45F' crashed out (as did the sister car piloted by John Rhodes).
September 1969 Tour de France - Paddy Hopkirk / Tony Nash
Suitably rebuilt and fitted with a new 8-port Lucas fuel-injected engine for the event (it had used a 5-port twin Weber carburettor fed unit at Brands Hatch), 'OBL 45F' finished 1st in class and 14th overall.
Private Ownership:
1969/1970
'OBL 45F' was sold into the private sector when the Competitions Department was wound up. A regular on the English Club Rally Circuit thereafter (during which time it sported a Clubman bonnet and Amal carburettors), the Mini has since been restored to Brands Hatch 1969 specification - a process which reportedly took some twenty-five years!

Competition Career:
1964 RAC Rally - Paddy Hopkirk / Henry Liddon
One of four Works entries for the event, 'CRX 90B' succumbed to the same transmission failure that claimed its three stablemates.
1965 Monte Carlo Rally - Don Morley / Erle Morley
One of six Works entries for the event, 'CRX 90B' finished 27th overall and 2nd in class with the Mini of Paddy Hopkirk / Henry Liddon crossing the finish line just one place ahead.
1965 Munich-Vienna-Budapest Rally - George Halliwell / Paul Easter
One of three Works entries for the event, 'CRX 90B' retired due to accident damage.

Rebuilt by the Works, 'CRX 90B' acted as a recce car throughout the 1966 season.
1967 - Test Car
Used by the Works as a test car for new components etc.
Private Ownership:
1968
'CRX 90B' was bought from BMC by Paul Easter and had no less than eight keepers over the next ten years.
1978
'CRX 90B' entered the current ownership. Forlorn and neglected, the Mini was subsequently restored to its former glory.
1982
'CRX 90B' finished 2nd overall to Paddy Hopkirk aboard 'AJB 44B' in the RAC Golden 50 Rally.
