Hey guys,

Just wondering how I remove the anodised strip that goes along the top of the bottom dash rail?

As some of you may know I had my kick plates chromed and I wish to do the same thing with this but I can't see how it attaches. I thought it would be best to ask first because I reckon I'd break it otherwise!

Cheers, Nick

I just ripped mine off, its held on with clips from memory. I bought a brand new one from Mini Kingdom or Mini Car Clinic years ago. Mini Spares Centre may still have them brand new?

Put a long as piece of wood that will fit,,gentle tap,tap no worries!! You could put a bit of rag on first so you don't damage it,work your way along..I think there's 4 clips 2 in the middle near the raised section, and 1 each end!!

Try and get it new first. Will be cheaper then getting it re-chromed.

Suffolk, that worked like a treat!

Hanra - I like the look of chrome over anodised myself. Plus everything in/on my car has turned out to be expensive anyway so why not just continue with that?

Seriously though, I did have a bit of a quick look and couldn't find a new one.

Note-
ALL Clubbies have one of these fitted (WHY???) but it's hidden under the bottom dash pad.
Easier to find an unmarked one here than new...

Yeah I am aware of that doc.

I put up a wanted and specifically stated that I wanted one from a clubby but no one answered / PM'd me.
