Brenton

ref: 1970 roundnose resto. in members mini gallery in the engine bay pic the comp plate is on the triangular bracket. and ive got a heater box for mine which sits in the space over the clutch housing. the inlet hole can be seen in the firewall and it has a flange for fitting the air tubing. dont know if this is signifigent, but, there you have it.

Dear mr 9YaTaH,
Getting back to the wiring on your mates mk2. I
checked mine and it is as follows: 2 wires coming out of the fan
1 green and 1 black. The black is earth and it plugged onto a short
black wire that had an eyelet under a screw under the dash.
the fan switch, which is the same a a single speed wiper switch has
2 green wires, 1 plugs into the green one from the fan and the
other plugs into a terminal on the ignition switch so it only has power
when the ignition is on. Thats how mine was wired. I hope thats of assistance . By the way if after its wired and the switch is in the wrong
position ( mine up is off) just change the 2 green wires around.

Tony ps thanks for the warm welcome :)

Back to the Mk2 issue, my 12/1970 K has the same square washer bottle, but it is between the radiator and carby (single SU so there is more room?).
My underdash 'clubby' heater has controls on the right of the steering column, and the cardboard drier hose goes from the fire-wall hole, under hydro hose and out to an angle bracket just behind the grill
My compliance plate is under the master cylinder area, near the right inside mudguard thing.

Cheerio

Just caught up with this post and the discussion on MK II versus MK 2. I realise the dust has settled on that fracas and I don't want to reignite it but ... I use MK II when describing my car because that's how the factory parts book (PUB 1056M) references those models. I wonder which option the sales literature of the period used - MK II or MK 2?

win...what the oldies here are doing is using common usage - it was common usage in the period to use Mark II for 2....I'm not saying it was the actual nomenclature used by BMC...just an assumption.
