G'day,

I had a play with my 998 on Saturday, and after a little adjusting i thought i finally had the mixture/timing all sweet, it was reving very nicely with no hesitation, and i was actually driving it around the back yard changing through the gears with out a prob.

But, on sunday a mate came around for a few beers so i thought i'd show him how well it was running. I didnt change a thing but this time it backfired very badly out the carb every time i reved it!

I'm guessing its a mixture issue?? and i need to ajust again, any other ideas?

Cheers

Did you do the clamp on the distributor back up? If might have rotated slightly and mucked your timing up again.

Thanks, i'll have to check the timing again,

So for it to be such a big backfire out the carbie would it more likely be timing or mixture set wrong?

same thing happenend with mine kept off road for about 2 months (we were on the wrong trak). was runnning well and going very hard pulled in the fdrive way went to go again running really terrible nearly undrivavble - It was the distributer, must have turned just past the advance mark.

Adjust your dissy
