Mine actually have coloured leds, so they do show the right colour, and when you do buy these lenses they also come with red reflectors. But i chose not to use them.

It is the lack of reflectors that make them illegal.

How would you feel if someone runs up the bum of your parked car on a foggy night due to the lack of reflectors? :?

I guess it depends on what you use your car for. I don't use my car at night.

As promised, here's the pic. Bottom half is stock rover, the kit is just the top half and some coloured globes.

You can put these tailights in, just leave the reverse lights unpluged.

All Leyland Minis had reversing lights. So there should be no problem getting them to work.

yea them the ones i have - mabey leds would put out a more red light - as mine is really pink with the bulbs that were supplied,

i put the bases in my mini that didnt have reverse lights - run 2 wires from the switch, one to power one to earth and i have to grind 2 small notches in the mounting part in the light recess as one of the bolts is in a slightly different position

With these crystal tail lights the only reason why they do not comply with ADR because they have not got a rear facing reflector. If you fit a small red reflector on each side of the car you should get around that. Hella make many different bolt on and stick on Red reflectors. Keep the boys in blue happy !
