Not only can it be done, it has been done. Both RWD and FWD (corona box I think).

Maybe you should talk with Paul Gulson, (gulson power on e-bay)
He stuck a rotary donk in a brick years ago

No no no no no!!

You got it all wrong Hanra, a nice 13G would just go nicely, I think.

There was one on ebay recently... the engine came through the firewall and had massive mods to it, wouldnt be street legal in NSW... or I wouldnt think so anyway.

Why do you want a rotary in a Mini? Spend the $ and do a 4EFTE conversion I say... or VTEC, etc... It would be cheaper to get an old Mazda rotor and stick to that instead of putting one in a mini.

Pete.

I'd say almost 100% that you'd be very hard pressed getting it registered. The max allowable naturally aspirated engine for cars under 800kg is 3.0 times the original weight of the car. And I doubt if our minis weigh more than 666kg :( Maybe a rover?

Also for rotaries the rules say ---

"The engine capacity to be used for rotary engines is twice the swept volume of all rotors ( eg a 13B rotary engine has a swept volume of 1308 cc giving a 'capacity' of 2616 cc )"

So I'd say it'd be more work and hassle than it's worth... Id imagine lots of broken gearboxes as well.

Cant beat a factory PP job i spose... Still only a triple rotor though? Quad would help the power to weight ratio.
