Yes, it's a UK van (intergrated grille) and probably had the disabled access conversion done in the UK very early in it's life. I've seen a few just like it in the Mini press. Note the relocated fuel tank and the ramp under the rear (numberplate is bolted to it).

It would make an interesting camper conversion for a round Australia trip or similar!

I bet the handling is a bit soggy due to it being top-heavy. Also the extra wind resistance would make it slow. :(

I didn't think the conversion was that uncommon. There is a 78 Clubman van in Canberra with the high roof, still being used for its intended purpose of transporting disabled people.

The conversion itself is not that uncommon. The fact that this is a UK car that someone has imported is what makes it especially unusual. Unfortunately that very conversion will also limit it's appeal. I mean, you could hardly call it pretty could you? :)

I had a mini van with a highroof for a while, was pritty rad i thought. was an deluxe, and was converted at Lancaster motors in Sydney if i recall correctly.
