had another thought. Could the angle of the assembly be incorrect thus pressing the wipers onto the screen too hard ??? It was a real bugger to get back in.

I find that you can generally see just at the top of the screen, I guess the slight overhang from the roof, stops rain hitting the screen here. That and when you get fast enough, most of it blows off. However, when it really starts to pelt down and you have to pull over you can't see anything and run the risk of someone behind you being in a similar situation. .

Someone at my wife's work was telling her that you should piss on the windscreen. I'm sure glad they didn't do that when she took my car to work.

I've been looking out for RainX recently but haven't spotted it in any of the places i've looked - just found the link on Autobarn website though...
http://www.autobarn.com.au/products/17/184/4214403/

My wipers stopped working 2 weeks ago and i've only just ordered some parts from the UK so i was keen to get some. I was always a bit slack at using it regularly but an application at the start of winter was always the start of good intentions for me when i lived in the UK and by the time it occurred to me that the beading wasn't shooting off the side of the screen like it used to, it'd be getting into springtime and i'd just never get around to re-applying again!

Anyway - it's truly great stuff - completely negates the need for wipers above a certain speed (used to always be above about 55mph as I recall on my pre-mini cars, maybe depends on the angles involved though, may need greater speed for a mini :))

PS. on a related note - can you get Color Magic or T-Cut here - I couldn't find it at Supercheap the other day and haven't noticed it in the past (although i wasn't looking for it until recently)

Joe....Seriously... Why would you think its illegal to apply Rain X to your windscreen? Did a lepricorn tell you that? Go to Autobarn, they will have plenty of it, i bought some on Sunday.

cool, just looking in the wrong place i guess.

I'll maybe take a look at Repco or AutoOne this weekend (now that I know it's available in Oz) as the nearest Autobarn & Supercheap are miles away from me.
