In that case I would guess it is an 850, though the heater hooks don't sound right as I don't think 850s were ever fitted with them. Is it possible it is an English model? Maybe a Super Deluxe. Either that or it could have started life as a Cooper. Or maybe somebody has just added the hooks.

I have an aussie made 850 shell from 63. it has factory heater brackets.

Carter,

check for a body id stamped into the firewall behind the master cylinders, letters about 1/2" high i think.

sounds like an 850 to me? sliding window doors? full front apron?

pics?

matt

Define 'wrong side' . I would suggest it is the 'correct' side as they didn't change until around 1969 or so. I believe you can tell if it is Australian or English by the roof gutter drain holes. I think Aussie ones are two holes drilled and UK ones are a slot, but would need confirmation.

The change point on the wipers seems to be june july 68. (deluxes)
Most UK bodies had a slot for a roof drain hole, so did some early aussie ones tho. (CKD?)

That means it is a pre 68 shell if aussie.

where's the shifter? is it a factory hole? is there a magic wand hole covered up?

M

Sounds like a UK mini of some form or a really early Aussie 850 (1961) , how are the front seats secured at the front ?

My 1967 English-built Austin 850 Super Deluxe has the heater hooks as standard
