Well it’s about time I did an update a lot of things have been happening with my mini. First I don’t necessarily think that the dyno graph was 100% correct, but it was a very linear power from the word go, so I would be inclined to think that it was a very flat torque curve. If it was or wasn’t correct then that’s cool if not doesn’t matter as it’s not on the car anymore and the SC12 carby kit has all been sold now so a fellow Ausmini-er. We learnt lots of little setup things doing it was it was good from that aspect if nothing else.
ATM the car is running with a Weber on the old motor while the new motor and supercharger gets finished off. Not that I have been driving it much, I got over it and gave it to Beanie to drive.
To start with it is a completely new 998, I was very close to doing a 1293 but this seemed more fun and win more pub points.
The block is a 998 block hot tanked, new cam bearings, pocketed to take a 12g940 head, .100" over size, centre main strap and will be 11 studded. It had No 4 bore sleeved as in a previous life it lunched a piston and surprisingly went unnoticed and still ran fine and even raced several times in improved production as it was.

The crank has been wedged, winged away from the conrods, ground .010"\.010" and nitrated.

Conrods have been polished, shot peened, big ends resized, new little end bushes, ARP bolts and check for straightness.
Pistons are .100" over Hypatec with Teflon buttons instead of the circlips.
Cam and Timing gear is from Swiftune, it will be running a SW5 cam and their Alloy Duplex vernier timing gear set.
Flywheel is an MED ultra-light steel flywheel assembly with a AP Bonded clutch plate and a Grey dot diaphragm.

With all new bearings, etc and all balanced of course.
Head is the A+ 12g940 I had that never got put on. It now has been extensively ported and is waiting to build the short block so we can work out how big the chambers need to be. Looks like 27.5-ish cc.
It will be breathing through a M45 Eaton supercharger off of a Bini. This is mounted up the front and will blow throw an intercooler then for the time being a metro turbo plenum and HIF SU.
Ignition will still be with the coil packs as it was with the E8 ECU.
Gearbox will be the current rebuilt A+ box I have with the Quaife ATB diff.
I will add more pics when things happen a bit quicker but this won’t be until I finish off the pull down of the Melbourne Motor show next week. Thanks Nathan.
