i have just rebuilt my 1100 and would like to supercharge here is whats done;
want to run on gas to later supercharger just a thought at the moment.
only standard pistons 20tho over
1275 cooper s valves
hardened valve seats for gas unleaded
ported and polished head around the same size as 12g940
fast road/rally cam
shaved head and block decked to bring compression up for lpg
center main strap
balanced
compression around 9.5;1
now can i safely sc this and if so how much boost can i run and will it make much difference.
later on i want to put a r1 or bussa engine in fwd i need something that will fit in my clubman front but i don't want to butcher the inner guards.
can i sc without having to change anything or do i leave it and wait for a bike engine.

Your compression is a little high for boost. You would get away with 8.5, but 9.5 I don't think so. You would be running next to no boost. Cam may also be an issue, if the overlap is too big it can have issues with boost as I found out.

I would leave as is and keep praying they let you put a bike motor in your mini...

Yeah it sounds like your comp ratio is too high, SC probably won't be safe on that engine.
Tell us more about your gas conversion/setup.

i have a gas setup out of a ford econervan and i would like to keep inside tank free if i can find some tanks to fit up in the space in the back subframe and where the fuel tank is.
if i can get about 60ltrs of gas i may be able to get 1000ks out of a tank, how good would that be.

i plan to run the car on gas only so power and econ will be good at gas is 110 octane like avgas.

Try asking some local Gas conversion workshops about the clearance you would need under the tanks too the ground and if they can get tanks that small. I imagine you'll need 2,3 or 4 tanks all plumbed together with a diameter of aprox 200mm each :? and they can't be that long either because they have to fit inside the subframe :( .
If your van is drivable try taking it with you so they can see it in the flesh, might help them help you.

Mine is 1100 turbo - running 10psi and 9.5:1 comp. Only issues were that it kept bending valves. New k-lined guides and Mk1 S valves and no issue.

I wouldnt run much more than 10psi though.

Not sure if SC is different though... like I said, my turbo setup handles it fine.

AMR300 is way to small.. if you do a search for AMR500 or 300 ( can't remember which ) there's a few articles on it :)

Even an AMR500 would be pushing it... You'd be better with a bigger charger = less heat = denser charge = more power on the same boost 8)

I did some calcs on the AMR chargers a while ago and if I remember correctly you would be maxing out an AMR500 to run even 10psi on a 998...
If I were you I would look at one of the rotrex (spelling) chargers, they are expensive but they are tiny, don't need any oil lines and are very effecient :)

I was going to use an AMR300 (the 300 stands for the amount of air cc's it pumps per revolution, same with the AMR500) My 998 engine died before I could charge it and I also fu@ked the blower before installation. on an 1120cc engine I would be looking for a bigger SC ask for something off a 1.1L or bigger but not hugely bigger.
5-8 PSI would be very good especially on an engine with high compression like yours. My brother was running 5-8 PSI on his 4x4 Feroza and it doubled his hp so you will definitely notice the difference.

Well there you go. I was told it was getting a bit high, but as Pete has said his handles it.. I don't think it would make a difference whether it was a snail or a blower, just use a good head gasket and make sure the block and head are flat. I use a metro turbo gasket (1275 head  )

I think you will find a huffer gives boost well before a turbo does, so more likely to give detonation or pinging, the air is hotter too (with no intercooling).
I'd be aiming for not more than 8.5:1 with a supercharger.
