Anyone else for a comment?

Just a bit :P

It's going to add a whole heck of a lot of weight isn't it? To strengthen the roof to carry the doors ( they're heavier than I thought :? )

And you might have to deseam the roof/doors if you're doing it merc style ( I know how much you love that  )

Still, it would look hot on a ute! 8) :D

Yes, and yes - that's why we are using a supercharger, to offset the added weight!! :D

Its all good!

tricky when you say gulwing do you mean just going up until the roof seam/sill and attaching hinging there....OR do you mean that you would do the full 300SL gullwing:
ala that it goes into the roof and cutouts there. (look at the previous photos if it dont make sence). that would be truely unique, but would need a heap of strengthening to get it all strong id imagine, so the car doesnt fold in 2 when you open the doors

either way i say go for it with the gullwings...
IMO scissor doors are starting to get lame....even the new lamborghini Gallardo has "normal" doors

Yep, its a bit of a joke that Lambo doors dont appear on Lambo's anymore.

Yes, I mean hinge at the middle of the roofline (or very close to the centreline) like the 300SL.

Offsetting the weight by de-pocketing the doors, and maybe fibreglass skins and braces.

I agree, it would be unique. I cant see the roof structure being that much thicker than the 300SL, seeing that 1/3rd of the door (lower portion) is still connected to the sill when you open it (as Ian stated).

Could be a goer me thinks.......
