White Knight paints have a hammertone paint called alpine green, it is very close in colour and does the job unless you are looking for concourse.

I will see if i have a pic of my engine.

You can get the hammertone alpine green spray can from supercheap, bunnings ect. Costs like $15 bucks for a can by memory.

i thought 850's were the darkish green, and alpine green was on later models?

Alpine Green is INCORRECT if you are doing concourse , its far too light in colour . The correct colour was a Berger Paints colour , code CP8689 - Metallic Green , but not many paint shops even list it on their computers now . Its a darker green than alpine green . I'll see if I can find a sample of the correct colour for you .

Early 850's powerplants were Dark Green . When the Aussie content came in , ( ie : bootlid with shorter number plate flap , 8YUH engine number etc .) , they were painted same green as later Cooper S motors , I think in late 1964 or early 1965 sometime
