just wondering if you can still buy compensators new and if so how much... there are a few that are adjustable and some are not... hmmm what is the difference etc?

Karcraft carries the standard rear one used on single brake line Minis & vans. About $57 I think.
They can be modified to be adjustable, according to the Poms- but it's illegal here to be able to adjust it from inside the car.

Sorry to bump an old thread.

What is the quality on the 21A1774?
I am unsure if its worth putting a kit through my original 64 valve or buy a new one.
My current one has packed up and locks the rears up if i hit the anchors.

Kits for this `pressure limiting valve' have been NLA since Lockheed stopped making them, years ago.
As said above if you find any kits we are all interested.

I have heard of people fitting a Willwood F/R adjustable proportioning valve instead, sorry no idea of part number.

ouch.. its an expensive we thing..

We must be able to find a seal, it didn't look like any thing special when I took the one I had a part.

They have never been cheap, I fitted a kit in my Cooper s many years ago and it was about $40

You could try Leon at Quick Service Brake and Clutch. He re-sleeved my master cylinders and rear wheel cylinders last year and I was really pleased with them and the service I got from him.

At the time he was after some secondhand bias valves that he could recondition, so I guess he can get seals for them. I think he said at the time that he was BMC trained, maybe an ex-apprentice?
