I'm in the final stages of finishing a customers custom clubman and had to come up with a washer bottle and header tank for it that would meet the following criteria:

*cheap

*be the right size (i.e fit and not look huge in a mini)

*and work, while been easy to check fluid levels

So from the wreckers I got for $10 (may be available cheaper) the header tank from a KC/KE ford lazer/mazda 323, and a washer bottle that normally washes the rear windscreen of a GD series mazda 626/ ford telstar hatchback. I was so happy with how they fit the mini I thought I'd show some pictures of what they look like.

The clubman around the washer bottle and header tank is a customers car so I will ask his permission tomorrow about posting photos, it's his car after all and it will be a regular sight on the mini scene in victoria at least. But that doesn't mean i can't tell you the details. It was a red 1978 clubman S sedan, now with custom one off steel body kit (flares, side skirts, and front spoiler, looks great not over done), deseamed, debumpered, new comodore purple, 1100 twin su carbs with custom fast road cam by clive cams in sydney (I have been in a 1310 with this cam and it has huge torque) and adjustable cam gear, custom woodgrain dash (I have to make it tomorrow), sports seats, 12" starcorp wheels, and heaps more I can not remember. I have been putting it together for the last four weeks.

I saw on the Mini Forum (www.miniforum.co.uk) a nice trick: Anodised aluminium drinking bottle from a tramping store (cheap as), and a bicycle bottle cage (the kind you bolt onto the frame of the bike). A couple of bit lying around the workshop and you're done. Looked very tidy indeed, and very cheap.
