where the door strikers are on the body. If it has an indentation for the door its a wind up window with a 850 gear stick hole mini minor unless there is hydro pipe brackets in engine bay then auto

A couple of things I would check to help determine Model
does it have holes drilled for hood bows
Position of holes for mounting sun visors, close together or wide apart
Holes for striker plate 3 in vertical line or two in vertical line and one offset

ok,

FINALLY got around to taking some pics, first time ive been out there with enough daylight to do anything in a long time, but anyway, pics will be up tmorrow.

however, from what i could see, there were no holes for the sun visors, there were holes drilled for the headlining all the way along.

also, is the door striker the part on the door, or the part on the pillar?

got some photos of the starter button hole aswell, i hope its near the clutch, ive never seen one before, otherwise i need a new floor

something else i noticed which grabbed my attention, on thge radiator shroud, it looks like the numbers have sort of been, rubbed out if you know what i mean?

Its normal on some Minis to have a starter button near the clutch housing...also normal for the rad shroud numbers to look "rubbed out" :D

The starter "button" (switch) is back right beside the gearshift....those are subframe mounting holes.

The plate top left (4 self tappers) is covering the original 850 "pudding stirrer" gearchange.

The top one (through the roof) is either a radio aerial mounting or maybe for a roof rack crudely bolted to the roof.

Yep the push start is further back and those holes are for the Subby
Door Strike looks looks like itrs been out of Alieanment for a long time
hate to think that some one would put a areial or a Roof rack thier but hay many have done scarier things (get some one who knows how to weld here to fix it

Get a got grinder and a Twist lock wire wheel (if you want Pic's I'll gladly show you what works well) to find what is hiding under paint on the shroude and fire wall and anywhere else you want to find holes

my guess, that was an aerial that was poking through the top,

so the starter button would be up near where that metal plate with the 4 self tappers would be? i have no idea, ive never ever seen one before.

so gaf, you reckon if i use a twist lock wire wheel to take away some of the paint, that'll reveal the other numbers, i dont wanna go nuts with it just yet, i dont wanna find anymore holes, i mean, im already lost with the bloody subframe mounting holes as it is

im just confused as to why there are no sunvisor holes, and why there is no id plate anywhere on the car, nothing from the boot could help to identify it?

thanks again for all your help
robbie.

the starter button would be back near the cross member offset to the driver side
try some paint stripper on the shroud as the wire wheel will take out any lightly stamped numbers the stamping was not always the best
the subframe bolts are dished to fit flush into the floor

also, just thought i should mention,

it has dry suspension, and no paint stripper on it as yet, no $$ to do anything.
